Younger Leaders


4handsvisionSynergy’s Younger Leader focus seeks to form an international coalition focused on raising awareness and providing skills for the future leaders of ministry – from grass roots and community projects to larger scale national, regional, or international projects.

The initiative is rooted in the idea that all believers can and should be empowered to do ministry including lay people in their communities, those in the ‘marketplace,’ and those involved specifically with Christian organizations.  And that their ministry will be increasingly effective as they are committed to the idea of working together and have the skills to form and sustain effective ministry partnerships and other forms of Kingdom collaboration.

Currently the Coalition is seeking to fill one key role:

Associate Director – Communications/Marketing

Primary roles are:

In cooperation with the Director of genNOW Initiatives, this position leads development of innovative content and effective marketing for:

  • www.powerofconnecting.net – the international partnership resource web site.
  • Partnership eNewsletter – the monthly education/information newsletter for the growing global partnership community.
  • Development/maintenance of the genNOW Coalition’s web site.
  • Well Connected book  – the promotion/distribution of the book and its collateral materials in English and other languages.
  • www.connectedbook.net web site
  • Collateral print/audio/video materials associated with Well Connected book in English and other languages.
  • Relations with external media for news/promotional purposes.
  • The Company of the Committed partnership advocate/activist network
  • Partnership training programs – formal, non-formal, and web-enabled as developed by visionSynergy and its partner agencies.

As the organizational/ministry home for the genNOW initiative, leads the planning and implementation of visionSynergy’s communications strategy including

  • Development/maintenance of the VS ministry web site, www.visionsynergy.net
  • Bi-monthly UPDATE (electronic & hard copy)
  • Relations with external media for news/promotional purposes.
  • Ministry investor relations
  • Communications/reporting as required for churches, foundations and other specialized funding sources
  • This role includes development/maintenance of a calendar defining themes, due dates, and team responsibilities in support of this key sector.

Basic Qualifications/Personal Requirements
(for all applicants)

  • Demonstrated personal spiritual and emotional maturity.
  • Commitment to and strong belief in the value of Kingdom collaboration.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the cause of world evangelization.
  • Evident desire to take part in a highly innovative work environment.
  • History of leadership in ministry and/or program innovation.
  • Demonstrated track record of experience and success in their field of interest.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, participate in setting objectives, and work without close supervision to meet those objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross cultural relationships.
  • Minimum Bachelor’s level degree, Masters preferred.
  • If not a citizen of the U.S. or Canada, evidence of legal status allowing U.S. residence and work.

Terms of Engagement By Team Members:

    • Funding will be provided for the initiative’s program expenses as well as for team member administrative, travel, and related expenses.  Financial partners have been identified for these elements for Phase I of the initiative.
    • Salary will be at a competitive level and may be provided one of three ways:
      • Straight salary paid as part of the Coalition operation
      • Loan/secondment of individuals with established personal support in existing missions or other ministry organizations.
      • Hybrid in which partial personal support is augmented by salary.
        • The individuals will be associated with the visionSynergy team in Seattle, Washington, USA which serves as the facilitator for the coalition.  Loans and secondments will be to visionSynergy who will provide the administrative framework for the individuals’ ministry.  Seattle would be a preferred location for team members.
        • Initial term of commitment will be for a three year period with the option for renewal based on mutual review.  Candidates can expect a supportive team environment committed to innovation and excellence in all aspects of the coalition’s work.
